H-1B VISAS STILL AVAILABLE!

Due to the downturn in the economy, USCIS has received only 45, 800 H-1B petitions toward the cap of 65, 000 for the upcoming fiscal year. That means that there is still time to file for an H-1B employee with an employment start date of October 1, 2009. In past years, the cap has been reached in the first week of April. Many employers still needing educated workers may not realize that visas are still available for the upcoming year. Contact us for more information on the H-1B process and our ability to meet your employment-based immigration needs.

WHERE’S MY GREEN CARD?

USCIS has announced that as a result of upgrading its card production equipment, there could be a delay of up to 8 weeks in the delivery of permanent resident cards. However, if permanent residence is granted at the interview, a stamp may be placed in the passport which is accepted as temporary evidence of lawful permanent resident status. This will allow you to travel outside the United States until you receive your permanent resident card.

If permanent resident status is granted after the interview, an appointment should be made at the nearest USCIS office using INFOPASS. Bring the passport and the INFOPASS appointment letter, along with the adjustment interview letter or other correspondence from the USCIS office that granted the application indicating that you are approved for permanent residence.

What Our Clients Are Saying

“It is refreshing to see a lawyer work at something with the passion and urgency that you did for us. So many lawyers lack the sense of urgency that clients so often need.”

-- R. Whitmore
